We are excited to announce we have officially launched a 12-week pilot for our young patrons at the children’s tent, Radish Roots Corner. Between July 19 through October 4, children ages 4 through 12 years old will be able to participate in our Token and Taste Program. After participating in the day’s craft activity, each child will be given $4 in Radish Roots tokens to spend with the farmers on fruits and vegetables only. We will track their progress over the 12 weeks with the hope that consumption of fruits and vegetables will increase for our youngest patrons. We will also have kid-friendly recipes, cooking demos, and engaging farmers to help them learn to love “real” food.

We encourage children to use the tokens the same day but if not, they can certainly be carried over to another Saturday. Tokens will only be valid at the Uptown Farmers Market, they cannot be used at another market.
